Don’t miss the D.C. Public Charter School Recruitment Expo this Saturday, January 9th, from 12 noon – 4:00 p.m. at the Washington Convention Center. It will be a one-stop opportunity to learn about the diverse array of charter school options available in Washington, D.C. For the kids we’ll have story time with the D.C. Public Library, school performances, goody bags, hot cocoa, and snacks; for parents we’ll raffle off $50 Target gift cards and offer one-one-one assistance to navigate the charter school choices. Schools are also recruiting teachers, staff and administrators. Borders Books will have a special sale on selected titles recommended by the D.C. Public Library. We’ll also have live broadcast with WPGC’s Anji Corley (America’s Next Top DJ) and El Zol’s Pedro Biaggi. They’ll be giving away all sorts of great prizes too. It’s going to be a fun and productive place to be out of the cold this Saturday. Take Metro right to the Convention Center to avoid traffic and parking challenges.
