ABC7/WJLA –TV reporter, Scott Thuman, will be the moderator of a Mayoral and At Large Council Candidates’ Forum hosted by Premier Community Development Corporation and the D.C. Federation of Civic Associations, Inc. on Tuesday, July 13 from 7 to 9 p.m.  The Forum will be held in the Israel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall located at 1251 Saratoga Avenue, NE. The Forum will focus on the candidates’ position on the topic:  “Jobs, Economic Development and Community Benefits.”  The At-Large Council Forum will begin promptly at 7 p.m. and the Mayoral Forum will be from 8 to 9 p.m.
Representatives from Premier CDC and members of the D.C. Federation of Civic Associations will be present to pose questions aimed at remedying the economic constraints that have plagued many neighborhoods and the city at large.  Most importantly, joblessness in some wards has reached 30 percent and many community benefits that were promised have failed to come to fruition.  According to Premier CDC Board Chairperson, Hazel Thomas, “Washington, DC’s has become an epic tale of two cities.  There is a critical need to bridge the gap between the have and have-nots.  Citizens deserve targeted solutions and concrete action – not just platitudes.”
Israel Baptist Church is located close to the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue and 12th Street, NE, near the Rhode Island Avenue Metro Station.  For more information or to participate, please e-mail: premiercdc@yahoo.com.
