Bridge will connect trail, Edgewood to RI Ave Metro

The Rhode Island Avenue Metro station sits high above Rhode Island Avenue, east of and above the railroad tracks. Riders who want to get to the Edgewood neighborhood to the northwest must follow a very circuitous route.

This development near Brookland and CUA in the Edgewood neighborhood of NE DC. The sales office and land development will start in Spring/Summer 2010, new home construction is expected to begin November 2010, with first move-ins expected in April 2011. Eya estimates that it will take 5 years to build all 237 homes or about 50 new homes per year.

Possible Costco in Ward 5

Wholesale club Costco has signed a letter of intent to occupy a shopping center in the Fort Lincoln neighborhood of Northeast D.C., according to Councilman Kwame Brown, D-At large.

Issaquah, Wash.-based Costco has been eying the property for years now, and the D.C. Council had approved a $10 million loan for the 375,000-square-foot shopping center back in 2005. Fort Lincoln Realty Inc. is developing the property.
