Today, Dance Place and Artspace broke ground  on a new $13 million, government-sponsored arts campus, "Brookland Artspace Lofts", at 3225 8th Street, NE in the  Edgewood neighborhood of DC. The goal of the  project is to bring new affordable artist housing and performance space to DC, ward 5 and the Edgewood community.The groundbreaking was one of the most impressive I have seen so far.
