In case anyone missed it ANC5C voted to *not* support Big Bears liquor license at this time. The vote was based on a resolution created by neighbors to the Big Bear cafe. The Residents in opposition created a resolution that outlined why they deemed it inappropriate for BBC to serve liquor. The resolution spoke to Big Bears illegal operation of a curbside cafe, their violation of zoning laws and events held at the cafe that served liquor without permits. Phase 2 Fare Changes Start August 1
In response to customer comments to avoid service cuts, Metro took a number of actions to maintain services, including obtaining more funding from the government jurisdictions. But fare adjustments are still required. The second phase of those changes takes effect on August 1.

Although the agenda was not sent out to the community in accordance with article 8, section 6 of ANC5C bylaws the commission will convene on Monday. Brian Brown the developer of the firehouse on North Capitol street will give a presentation on his plans for the building which are to include a banquette hall, restaurant and lounge. Missing Cat Near Todd

Someone lost an orange cat last week, and there has been a male (unneutered) orange tiger striped cat hanging out in the alley between t and Todd and summit and second ne. He appears to be tame and is hungry. I have been feeding him a bit (he gets some of the alley cats' food). If you think he could be yours, email me at slogan87@gmail.com.

Over the last couple of months there has been a ongoing debate on Liquor Licenses within ANC5C. A lot of the debate stems from the restaurant liquor license application from local coffee shop Big Bear Cafe in Bloomingdale DC.
