Possible Costco in Ward 5

Wholesale club Costco has signed a letter of intent to occupy a shopping center in the Fort Lincoln neighborhood of Northeast D.C., according to Councilman Kwame Brown, D-At large.

Issaquah, Wash.-based Costco has been eying the property for years now, and the D.C. Council had approved a $10 million loan for the 375,000-square-foot shopping center back in 2005. Fort Lincoln Realty Inc. is developing the property.

Five years ago, the New York Avenue Metro Station transformed our neighborhood. To celebrate this milestone, the NoMa BID is treating you to free coffee Friday morning (tomorrow)!
